The Australian Mist is a new breed developed in Australia in the late 1970s. A cross between the loving Burmese , the intelligent Abyssinian and the healthy domestic tabby, the Australian Mist has captured the best traits of each of it's forbearers to produced an excellent, family oriented, cat with it's own unique traits.
In 1998 the breed changed name from "spotted mists" when marble coated cats were accepted into the breed.
